If you have ever wondered if there is a way to change the appearance or close spacing in between you teeth look no further. There’s no reason to put up with spaces in between your teeth or with teeth that are stained, badly shaped or crooked. Today a veneer placed on top of your teeth can correct nature or the results of an injury to help you have a beautiful smile.
Veneers are thin, custom-made shells crafted of tooth-colored materials designed to cover the front side of teeth. Usually made of porcelain, the main goal of a laminate veneer is to hide and or change the shape or color of the underlying teeth.
The procedure involves removing a small amount of enamel from your teeth to accommodate the shell. Then, a dental technician crafts them in a dental lab, working from a model provided by our office. Once the veneer is ready, we place the veneer on your teeth and you have a new beautiful smile.
A crown is a covering over a tooth that surrounds and protects it. It is placed over a tooth due to decay, cracks and/or protection from further damages. A crown can be made of several substances. An all porcelain crown contains no metal therefore being very esthetic and natural looking.
If you feel you show too much gums when you smile and have questions about what can be done, give us a call for a consultation.
Short term Orthodontics or STO is an effective and conservative esthetic treatment option for adult patients with maligned teeth. This cosmetically focused treatment is a great alternative to traditional orthodontics for patients wanting a straighter smile while not altering or changing their bite. This allows us to address our patients’ main concerns of teeth crowding or spacing without aggressive tooth reduction.
Some individuals show more gums (gingiva) than others. We refer to this as a gummy smile. Crown lengthening, specifically esthetic crown lengthening, is where we remove some of the gum tissues exposing more of the underlying tooth. The procedure is performed with a specialized laser around the front of the teeth in the smile zone to show more of your underlying tooth structure. The results are dramatic and change a smile drastically without having to do anything to the teeth. Each circumstance is different and ranges from simple to complex and may even mean to achieve that ideal result excess bone may need to be removed.
