The air abrasion tool functions like a mini sandblaster. It sprays out a fine stream of particles made of silica, aluminum oxide, or a baking soda mixture. Our doctors aim the stream at stained or decayed portions of your teeth and effectively sandblasts the decay or stain away. The particles are then suctioned out of your mouth with a thin tube.

Is Air Abrasion Dentistry Safe?

Yes, the treatment is completely safe. We will provide you with a rubber dam or other form of isolating appliance and protective eye wear during your appointment. The rubber dental dam protects the teeth and gums we’re not treating.
